Gospel Centered Recovery

Gospel Centered Recovery

Gospel Centered Recovery (GCR) is a ministry of The Refuge for local churches. GCR is a bible based support group for men and women who struggle with addictive sins of all kinds. It is specifically designed to be a ministry operated by local churches that provides a place for men and women who have life-dominating sins to come to be open with others while finding hope and encouragement from God’s Word. Currently, 3 churches in central Iowa have GCR groups.

A typical GCR meeting lasts for an hour and a half. It begins with 30 minutes of Bible teaching and after that, the large group divides up into men’s and women’s break-out groups for discussion of what was taught, accountability, and prayer.

Winterset Group

Our local Winterset Group meets at the Redeemer Church offices every Thursday night at 6:30pm. Matthew 11:28 says “Come to me all who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” GCR is all about finding rest in Jesus and His promises.
